Somatic Therapy and Trauma Resolution

As a licensed psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and long-time student of Zen Buddhism, I have worked with clients somatically for more than 30 years. If you have experienced any level of trauma in your life, either developmentally as a child or through other life experiences, I can support and assist you in slowly and gently releasing the effects of those traumas and regaining your natural wisdom and vitality. In the safety of a supportive and loving environment, I will offer you guidance to help you restore your nervous system to its rightful, regulated state and regain your human nature, your true self. Through the use of social engagement, guided awareness, movement, art, and other resources, we will explore ways to free you from the bondage of the past and worries about the future, and help you live more fully in the present moment, with a deepened sense of joy and ease.

Somatic work engages the body’s nervous system – including thoughts, feelings, images, sensations, and memories – in a subtle yet powerful way that allows positive, lasting changes in the way we feel, live, and experience life. It can allow us to feel more grounded and alive, enjoy healthy and loving relationships, and connect authentically with others.
